De-colorisation

     The filtered liquor from Carbonatation is passed through two passes of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) which removes more colour. In USC we have 12 carbon columns to remove the colour from the liquor. The carbon is regenerated in a hot kiln where the colour is burnt off from the carbon. The de-colourised solution is known as fine liquor.
